Question: I am not from SMU. How do I access your cases and accompanying teaching note?

Answer: You can gain access to the teaching notes through our partners, The Case Centre (UK) or Harvard Business Publishing (US), via the URLs below. This is applicable for registered educator account holders of our partner websites.

Additionally, if you are a teaching staff from another university/tertiary education institution, you can obtain inspection copies of SMU cases and teaching notes directly from us. To receive an inspection copy and teaching note, please email CCXShop@smu.edu.sg with your registered faculty email ID and a link to your contact information on the faculty directory on your university website. An inspection copy and teaching note will then be sent to your faculty email account upon verification.

Question: I am a SMU staff/ faculty, but I am unable to download the case and/or teaching note via CCX’s site. What can I do?

Answer: Access to the cases and teaching notes via the CCX site is granted to SMU staff using your ID login credentials. If you are unable to access the case or teaching note, please seek help from IITS. If the issue persists, please contact CCXShop@smu.edu.sg.

Question: I am part of SMU teaching staff. How much does it cost to use a case in a SMU undergraduate class?

Answer: The cases are free for use by SMU undergraduates. Please share with us the number of students who are using the case for CCX’s record purposes by sending an email to CCXShop@smu.edu.sg. 

Question: I am part of SMU teaching staff. How much does it cost to use a case in non-SMU classes or SMU class that is not for undergraduates (such as postgraduates and executives)?

Answer: Each participant will be required to purchase the case at a fixed price of S$6.00 at https://cmp.smu.edu.sg/cases. For example, if there are 20 students in the class, the cost of using the case will be 20 x S$6.00 (inclusive of prevailing GST) = S$120.00.

Question: How much does it cost to buy a case with multiple parts (e.g., part A, B, C, etc.) and resources (teaching supplement, supplementary data files) at CCX’s website?

Answer: A multi-part case still cost S$6.00 at https://cmp.smu.edu.sg/cases regardless of the number of parts it contains. This applies to a case with teaching supplement and related materials.

Question: How do I pay for a case?

Answer: Credit card payment is available at https://cmp.smu.edu.sg/cases. Other forms of payment are available at our partner websites for educator account holders.
